I've seen this sometimes in the Cygnus Kerberos rlogin that we run in
the village over dualing SLIP connections (that is me <-> enet <->
router <->slip <-> it's a big net after all <-> SLIP <-> router <->
enet <-> router <-> SunOS box).

But I've not seen it lately.
