'cannot find (locate) kde-lite '
>Description:
Hello: I'm a newbie at this so I don't know if anyone already reported this. On the latest version (downloaded from freebsd iso image) I was not able to load KDE light Desktop after the installation process. After entering "startx" I received the error "Cannot find (locate) kdeinit. check configuration". During this time the screen is just grey and the message pops up on the top left hand side in a white box with an "x" option to close.

I found that KDE regular does work but only if its installed as an additional port from the cd and as long as kde light is not selected as the default desktop during CD installion. After several complete partitionings and re-installs (3), I decided to change the default DESKTOP ( with cd installation) to Gnome lite. After starting GNOME and confirming that it does work, I read your "outstounding" Handbook on "changing desktops" and "BAM" I couldn't believe it, it worked. I saw the KDE desktop come up and I was estactic. ( I say this cause I first began trying to load Freebsd last year with ver 4x and was not able to do so. I have struggled but never gave up.

My system:
-Intel P3 800Mhz / 20GB HD / 128MB Ram
-Video chip is intel815E I used intel810 (815E was not a option during installation)
-Monitor : Gateway200 Crystalscan 1024 NI -monitor 800x645 - 800x600 - *800x478
-VideoRam 4MB
-color 16 or 24bit (both work)

Finally, I want to say "thank you" for having Handbook available. It was a godsend. In the past few days I have learned so much from this book.

Johnny
