Need some advice

I'm trying to set up my FreeBSD desktop but when I type

#startx

execue failed for /usr/X11R6/bin/X (errno2)
_X11 TransSocketUnixConnect: Can't connect: errno = 2
_X11 TransSocketUnixConnect: Can't connect: errno = 2
_X11 TransSocketUnixConnect: Can't connect: errno = 2
_X11 TransSocketUnixConnect: Can't connect: errno = 2
_X11 TransSocketUnixConnect: Can't connect: errno = 2
_X11 TransSocketUnixConnect: Can't connect: errno = 2
giving up.
xinit: no such file or directory (errno2): unable to connect to X server
xinit: no such process (errno3): Server error.

** I have installed X server and I have installed XF86Config and set up all
my hardware.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.**
