The box is FreeBSD-10.4-BETA1/amd64. It has a Radeon FireGL V3200 
(RV380) card.

The problem went away after I disabled the 
layers.acceleration.force-enabled -- your very name triggered a distant 
memory of PR 220444

There effect was not immediate -- I had to restart the browser, but now 
the videos look properly.

I looped through all of the video-modes available -- some of them didn't 
work at all, but those that worked, all worked correctly...
