Quite interesting. Any idea, how it is about the interaction of amd with KDE 
or Gnome?

I ask, because I remember to have read somewhere, that the KDE team does not 
want to support another automounting mechanism other then the GNU/Linux 
hal+dbus way.

So can amd be used as equal replacement for the missing hal?
