Why?  It doesn't make any difference as long as one uses the
mailwrapper stuff:

des@des ~% grep sendmail /etc/rc.conf
sendmail_enable="YES"
des@des ~% cat /etc/mail/mailer.conf
#
# Execute the Postfix sendmail program, named /usr/local/sbin/sendmail
#
sendmail        /usr/local/sbin/sendmail
send-mail       /usr/local/sbin/sendmail
mailq           /usr/local/sbin/sendmail
newaliases      /usr/local/sbin/sendmail

So what's all this noise and racket about?
