Can you please report back if your problem is still valid even with a more recent release of FreeBSD (6.3/7.0)? If it's still a problem, I'm wondering if you can check Pyun's reworked vr driver and provide him feedback? For more information about his recent work, please have a look at PR kern/109477 which contains URLs for patches.
