Chapter 26 deals with freebsd-update which updates the base system and portsnap which updates the Ports tree (but not installed programs). There is currently a discussion on merging chapter 26 with "The Cutting Edge" which also refers to base system upgrades. The resulting chapter will also be more appropriately named (something like Updating and Upgrading FreeBSD).
