>Description:
When upgrading to 2.2.5 OR 3.0-Current, and using a Cyrix 6x86 P166+ MMX
The kernel Panics Imediatly on decompressing the kernel (from the boot floppy)
or when installing a new kernel.
IE You can't boot the machine.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install a Cyrix 6x86 P166+ MMX and turn on the machine
>Fix:
Replace the CPU, I used a Cyrix P120+ and 2.2.5 booted fine. I managed to upgrade using the old CPU
Then put the new CPU back in.. *BANG* dead again
