I'm doing an FTP install of 2.2.6 from ftp.freebsd.org. The trouble is after I define my partitions on my 320MB ESDI drive (64MB Swap the rest for /) it goes to make the file system then comes back with a status code of 36. I flip to the second virtual console and get: hard error writing fsdn (number) wd0s1 blah blah blah: status 51(rdy,seekdone,err) error10(no_id) write error:(number) wtfs: Input/Output error Last night I low levelled the drive, did a full surface scan with pattern testing and locked out all bad tracks. I did install MS-DOS on for just a bit, then wiped it with the FreeBSD slice. ;-----------------------------------------; ; ; Chris Zwilling ; Don't let people drive you crazy ; chris@cloudnet.com ; when you know it's in walking distance ; System Administrator ; ; 320.240.8243 ;-----------------------------------------; To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
