I guess he forgot to mention what a bitch Linux kernel compilation in
itself is.

Anyways, if ye look closely Marc, ye can see the starts of modularisation
taking place, and I hope it's possible (without to many dirty hacks and
tricks) that what you suggested can be used on BSD.
