I expect the code generator to be better than gcc, but don't know yet how it compares to Compaq's compiler. Are people interested in a native non-gcc compiler for FreeBSD/alpha? How happy will people be (scale 1-10) if the compiler could compile the kernel as well? Am I right when I say that Compaq's compiler cannot be used to compile the kernel? NOTE: The compiler will obviously also support FreeBSD/i386, but the immediate advantage is less pronounced. Hence the focus towards FreeBSD/alpha. -- Marcel Moolenaar USPA: A-39004 marcel@xcllnt.net To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-alpha" in the body of the message
