I am attempting to configure my FreeBSD = 4.0 system=20 with a serial console.

I have read the doc at http://= www.freebsd.org/handbook/serialconsole-setup.html and=20 changed the device entry for COM1 in my kernel configuration file as=20 follows:

device =20 sio0 at isa? port "IO_COM1" tty flags 0x10 irq = 4

When I run /usr/sbin/config -g FREEBIE=20 config gives me a syntax error at the line with the new device=20 entry.

Any assistance would be greatly=20 appreciated.
