You will need to compile X from the latest ports/x11/XFree86.
The following configuration works for me:

Note the "no_accel" option -- it is prerequisite.

There is also a work-in-progress on native AGP drivers for FreeBSD.
Doug Rabson <dfr@FreeBSD.org> has plans to continue a work on i810
driver after Usenix.
