>Description:
I successfully installed FreeBSD 5.4 from CDROM on a system with a GigaByte GA-8I945P-G motherboard, 1x SATA Hard drive and 1x PATA CDROM.

I tried to do an Install Upgrade from disc 1 that I downloaded last night. sysinstall runs but when I select CD/DVD for Installation Media I get the message No CD/DVD devices found!
(The bottom of the Choose Installation Media screen says "Press F1 for more information on the various media types" but pressing F1 seems to have no effect, it certainly doesn''t change what is displayed on the screen.)

But I booted from a CD and FreeBSD 5.4 finds the CD and can successfully read from the CD. Perhaps this problem is related to that in PR 88929.

I tried the procedure described in section 2.2.3 of the current FreeBSD handbook to display the last few hundred lines of the device probe output and here is an extract:

For comparison, here's the dmesg output from a FreeBSD 5.4 custom kernel on the same box: Notice the CD drive is reported in 5.4 but not in 6.0
