That way, the FreeBSD disk will be booted from instead. You could also put the FreeBSD bootmanager on the XP drive. Boot from your FreeBSD CD and enter the partition editor. Select the XP drive but don't change anything. Select w and you'll get told something like that is for advanced users only. As you come out of there you'll get the option of installing the bootmanager on that drive.
