Have you tried mounting the device anyways?  I use "mount -t msdos
/dev/da0s4 /mnt" (I might be a bit off about the device name - I will
check later tonight).

It could be a bad zip disk.  Have you tried doing an extended format
using the IOMega drivers under Windows?
