The TX pro motherboard will turn on the extra control bits so that even a
Cyrix 6x86/L will appear as a Pentium... In other words, you need the
i586 cpu settings or it will not work. 

You can verify this by starting up comptest in DOS and instead of saying 
it is a 486 (as it usually does), it will say Pentium.

Solution: Bootup with the generic kernel and recompile with i586 settings
or leave the 486, 586, and 686 settings all in the kernel.
