Hi People, I have installed the latest stable release of proftpd on my server (1.2.8) and I am getting the error message: "500 Sorry, no server available to handle request on domain.com" I can connect via the localhost though so I assume it's got something to do with my firewall even though I have opened ports 20,21. Here's some info which I hope will help: from sockstat: ftp proftpd 11311 0 tcp4 *:21 *:* from ipfw show: 00304 55 2732 allow tcp from any to x.x.x.x/24 20,21,22,25,53,80,443 setup 00400 120 15172 allow udp from x.x.x.x/24 to any 20,21,53,123 keep-state out xmit $oif 00401 7 806 allow udp from any to x.x.x.x/24 20,21,53,123 keep-state in recv $oif all access to other ports above work fine, just having problem with ftp. from ps: ftp 11311 0.0 0.8 1888 1484 ?? Ss 9:41AM 0:00.07 proftpd: (accepting connections) (proftpd) Hopefully someone else may have had this problem and can give me a short answer. I can send more info on request eg. proftpd.conf I did pickup a lot of this kind of errors via Google but didn't come across any clear answers and it all seemed firewall related. I also didn't find anything at www.proftpd.org. Thanks and kind regards, Nelis
