I've heard rumors that you just have to know with some hardware.  Oh,
this is glorbnitz bridge, it only supports 256MB at the top end or
this is gerblitings bridge, it supports 512MB, etc.  Oh, this is
lemmings bridge, you read these registers.  It would be ugly :-(
