I am having all sorts of problems. It seems the the out of box sendmail no longer works with Fetchmail. See the logs below... Sep 24 08:01:42 eric fetchmail[804]: starting fetchmail 5.8.17 daemon Sep 24 08:01:42 eric fetchmail[804]: 5.8.17 querying mail.xx.net (protocol POP3) at Mon Sep 24 08:01:42 2001 Sep 24 08:01:45 eric fetchmail[804]: 30 messages for tim at mail.xx.net (137700 octets). Sep 24 08:01:46 eric fetchmail[804]: reading message 1 of 30 (2843 octets) Sep 24 08:03:01 eric fetchmail[804]: SMTP connect to localhost failed Sep 24 08:03:01 eric fetchmail[804]: SMTP transaction error while fetching from mail.xx.net Sep 24 08:03:01 eric fetchmail[804]: Query status=10 (SMTP) Now this is currently working out of box on two older FreeBSD 4.3 boxes with Sendmail. DO I need to install smtpd or is there something I need to configure in sendmail. I have 127.0.0.1 in the sendmail access file for relaying. I am not sure what else needs to be done. The first install of sendmail did not work, so I installed sendmail from /usr/ports/mail/sendmail. Fetchmail was installed via ftp install during the install. I have not updated tot he version in /usr/ports/mail/fetchmail as of yet. Any help is appreciated.
