It depends on what you consider "work"?

If the Python 2.7 restriction is removed and *only* the TKAGGBACKEND option=
 is
used, then the port builds and works with Python 3.5 and 3.6.

Hovewer, the default configuration (which also has GTKBACKEND and GTKAGGBAC=
KEND
options enabled does not build).
