I don't think it's VMware locking the system up.  The linuxlator is
locking things up.  I tried running with one compiled from Sunday
morning sources (a kernel from Friday nite sources), and running and
linux binaries causes the machine to hang and then reboot.  Since I was
in X I couldn't see what was going on.  I'm going to try a new one
today.
