I would say generally it is quite difficult to get in the way of the OS and
influence bad things to happen... however, that being said, familiarize
yourself with chmod and remember, you can leave things in their default,
installed states/stati where certain binaries and directories are (as they
ought to be) *executable* while not *readable* just remember that :)
