Given that the removal of this port was requested by the owners due to
copyright issues in 2008, should not the commit message have addressed
why it is okay to add this port back?  Has the legal situation changes?
 To omit this information from the commit message is very conspicious IMO.

For convenience, this was the previous commit message:

How does one know that the legal situation has changed to allow this
port to come back?
