I have just installed FreeBSD for the first time on a 486/dx 66 with 32m of ram and 680m of disk space. I am looking to install the kernel sources and other packages. I have to proxy through a linux box on my cable modem connection as I dont have dhcp setup for freebsd yet. What is the best way to get kernel source and packages from freebsd.org? Can I setup freebsd to use a TIS FTP proxy on my cable modem box? or should I transfer packages directly to the linux box and then transfer them to the freebsd box?
