Hi, I'm playing around with the Linux version of LabVIEW in the Linux mode of FreeBSD (4.0, linux_base 6.1). After branding the installation binaries, it installed fine. The thing puzzling me is that I can run the program as root, but when I run as a normal user, labview exits with the following message: karelj@wop21]/usr/local/lv51> ./labview See /tmp/LabVIEW_Failure_Log.karelj.txt for more information. Failure : "thread.c" line 651 For assistance in resolving this problem, please record the preceding information and navigate to www.natinst.com/failure, or contact National Instruments. Abort Looking in the mentioned logfile there is not much more information: #### #Date: Tue, May 02, 2000 10:35:20 AM #Desc: Failure : "thread.c" line 651 For assistance in resolving this problem, please record the preceding informatio n and navigate to www.natinst.com/failure, or contact National Instruments. #RCS: $Id: thread.c,v 4.25 1999/01/26 16:54:21 craig Exp $ #OSName: Linux #OSVers: 2.2.12 #AppName: ./labview #AppKind: FDS Does someone know what could make the program run as root but fail as normal user?
