What reminds me of suggesting the following (use automounter
to mount floppy and cdrom). This has the additional advantage of
having the amd.conf file introduced, which is needed for further
amd configuration...

/etc/amd.conf:
[ global ]
cache_duration = 60
dismount_interval = 60
log_file = syslog
[ /auto ]
map_name = /etc/amd.auto
[ /host ]
map_name = /etc/amd.map                   

/etc/amd.map:
#/defaults	type:=host;fs:=${autodir}/${rhost}/host;rhost:=${key}
/defaults	opts:=nodev,nosuid;fs:=${autodir}/${key}
cdrom		type:=cdfs;dev:=/dev/cd0a;addopts:=ro
floppy		type:=pcfs;dev:=/dev/fd0
*		opts:=rw,grpid,resvport,vers=2,proto=udp,nosuid,nodev
