You can try to add this line to the ac97codecid array in ac97.c: { 0x41445368, 0x00, 0, "AD1888", ad198x_patch}, (I've looked at the NetBSD code and it uses the same patch for AD1888, AD1980 and AD1985) Cheers, Antoine
