Finding high performance drives that are quiet is a very hard. It's kinda
like trying to make a top fuel funny car quiet... but I have just brought
these drives in and they are reasonably quiet.

They are 5400 RPM drives, which helps, and the casing is die cast aluminium
top and bottom which also helps to keep them quiet.

Reliablility in the field is unclear at this time as this is a brand new
drive model, but Micropolis has a rather good track record.

XX. TMG MPL34763 Micropolis MC4421 2G, 3.5"x1" 5400RPM 8.8mS, 512k $ 549.00

Also known as a Micropolis Aries-II drive, the part number is TZ0030-02-5,
watch out, there is another part number for the MC4421 which has a 9.6mS
seek time.
