Hi all

I've noticed that syslogd run as root, but why? Syslog just need to=20
connect to a port, get messages and write them to some files, so why doe=
s=20
I have to be root? I know you have to be root to bind() to a port below =

1024, but there should be a syslog user to lower UID to after it have=20
done that?!?!?

Btw is the BBS, Heap and stack executable in freebsd? If yes, why? And=20
can you guide me to some detailed info about ELF?
