i486DX4-100, 1742, 2GB DEC-SCSI2, HP DAT-SCSI2 + NEC 4XI cdrom

>Description:

The kernel does not recognise an NEC 4XI cdrom drive sitting off a 1742. 
It does pick up a DEC scsi drive and HP DAT. The 1742 runs in extended 
mode and correctly sees all 3 devices according to its bootup message.
Tried with the generic kernel and a kernel built from BOOTMFS.
