Although this may better belong in the handbook, where there is a little more
space for a more detailed explanation, for a truly new user, they might
appreciate something along the lines of: "use 'cp original_file ..' and then
edit the new file (unless there ISN'T an "original" file in /etc/defaults,
then you will need to copy it out of usr/share/examples/etc/defaults)" I
know we want to kind of keep things simple in the README, but the copy in
/etc/defaults (if it exists) (and if I am not mistaken....) should be treated
as "more" canonical than /usr/share/examples/etc, especially in the case of a
system that wasn't "properly" upgraded. (if they user is using CVS or
whatever to update their system, /etc/defaults and
/usr/share/examples/etc/defaults *should* be the same, unless I'm missing
something, but if they aren't.... )

Overall, though, looks pretty good to my unpracticed eye.
