No. You need to establish a route, see output of "man route".

I don't know. If i would start debugging peoples configuration files and
scripts, i would not be able to do any other work, so i generally don't
do that anymore.

Yes, why not ? Just run isdnd -f and enable some debugging output with -d.

i4b has nothing to do and does nothing with any IP or ping or this stuff.
It just provides interfaces to the IP stack and its interfaces are to be
handled with respect to IP traffic and routing as any other IP interface
is. In short: you have to configure the interface and associated routing
yourself.

/var/log/messages or running isdnd in a terminal with option -F is your
friend in finding out.
