     if the dos partition gets mounted via /etc/fstab, you can have a rw 
     partition BUT everything in this partition will be owned by root.
     
     you can also mount_msdos -u <your user name> <your drive> <mount 
     point> as root, and you'll be able to modifiy files as a "normal" 
     user.
     
     anyway : man mount_msdos

Why the DOS partition mounted under FreeBSD is read-only?
     
Is it "dangerous" to write or store something on it?
