Here's where bafflement sets in...I'm installing on an IBM 466 DX/2 (PS/VP) hoping to use FTP via the 3C509B card as I have a direct connection (it's been running Win95, L*n*x and an earlier version of FreeBSD fine before). I booted from boot.flp, did the config, but the Custom Installation (5) Media (2) FTP [picked the site] only gives me choices for PLIP, SLIP and PPP -- no way to pick my Ethernet card as the route to the outside world.
