In the processing of changing ISPs, I have been trying to get pine (3.87)
configured for use the correct return address. No matter what it do
it uses the user name on the client system rather than on the IMAP
server. I finally had to clone my account on my local system with
the user name that I have on my ISP's IMAP server. This seems like an
enourmous security hole as well as being cumbersome. Is there a way
around this that isn't documented in the .pinerc or pine.conf files?
Is this fixed in newer versions of pine?
