>From the ports. :)  I'm currently writing a document (which I plan to turn
into a wiki page if it all works out) on how to run pre-KMS X.org bits on
stable/8 laptop with Intel graphics.

Basically idea is to revert to last working versions of xorg-server, libdrm
and perhaps Mesa and use remaining X11 bits as usual (given X.org's network
nature and hoping that those guys know how to maintain compatibility).
