Hi,

I followed the meaningful instructions from
http://www.shadowcom.net/freebsd-oracle9i/

All worked well until the installer tried to launch netca. The netca GUI
never appeared.
Then OUI tried to launch dbca. A blank windows appeared, and a few
second later the system rebooted.

I uninstalled the whole thing and I tried again to no avail.

There are not many clues in the system or Oracle log files. Here is the
end of oraInventory/logs/installActions2003-10-25_04-32-02PM.log

The "Unable to read ..." lines look suspiscious. Did they appear in a
normal install log file? The file permissions seem to be all right.

bash-2.05b# ls -l /usr/local/oracle/oraInventory/Contents/

Since the Oracle engin is certainly installed correctly, I'd like to
launch dbca by myself. Here are the results:

=================================================================
bash-2.05b# su - oracle

oracle-bsd> /compat/linux/bin/bash
oracle-bsd> dbca

Here's my configuration:
FreeBSD 5.1-CURRENT SMP enabled
Linux packages:
linux-sun-jdk-1.3.1.09 Sun Java Development Kit 1.3 for Linux
linux_base-7.1_2 The base set of packages needed in Linux mode
linux_devtools-7.1 Packages needed for doing development in Linux mode

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
