They use 10.x.x.x addresses for intermediate routers.  They also
assign them to the cable modems themselves for the SNMP traffic.
For example, my cable modem is 10.64.2.35.  Anyone know what the MIB
looks like?

Endpoints come from the 24.x.x.x block.

Whether this violates the RFCs depends on your view of private vs public
networks.  I'm sure someone at @home would argue the whole cable fabric
is an intranet, and they only have to keep the 10.x.x.x addresses from
being seen by their peers, like the MAE's.
