Pointers would be appreciated. > TIA It is well documented in the handbook, but basically, install cvsup from ports: /usr/ports/net/cvsup Then run the cvsup for source and ports. Then do your buildworld, buildkernel and installkernel stuff and reboot. Clean up stuff and then do your installworld Then do the mergemaster -- if this a brand new install that might might not be needed but won't hurt. Now you can install all your other ports. They were updated when you ran the cvsup at the same time as the source if you put both in your cvsup control file (supfile). Just for clarity, I name my supfiles after the version I CVSUP to. SO for 6.2 I call it: supfile62 and the contents are as follows. One other thing, You might want to do all the major operations inside of a script session in order to capture messages in case you need to go back and review them. See script(1) The handbook should get you all else that you need. ////jerry -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- # $FreeBSD: src/share/examples/cvsup/standard-supfile,v 1.23.4.2.2.1 2006/05/06 07:41:03 scottl Exp $ # # cvsup standard-supfile # # If not running X, or invoking cvsup from a non-interactive script, then # run it as follows: # # cvsup -g -L 2 standard-supfile # # eg do: cvsup -g -L 2 supfile62 # *default host=cvsup.FreeBSD.org *default base=/var/db *default prefix=/usr *default tag=RELENG_6_2 *default release=cvs *default delete use-rel-suffix *default compress ## Main Source Tree. # The easiest way to get the main source tree is to use the "src-all" # mega-collection.
