In a volunteer project, people will work on what they want to work on. If you take that away from them, you can't expect that they will instead choose to work on something else that you consider to be more important. If you consider SMP so important, then I would encourage you to work on it yourself. In the meanwhile, please stop doing damage to the project as a whole by discouraging others from doing work in other areas that you do not consider important -- especially since many disagree with you, including many who do not themselves own or have access to alpha systems and who would tend to have a more objective viewpoint on this subject. -- Brad Knowles, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania.
