Anyway, it's an error message straight from the drive.  Nothing from
the VM system.  You could also try the same CD with another drive.

The largest file i've got around here on a CD is:

316790 46465 -rw-r--r--    1 root             wheel            23790261 Mar 12 05:10 /cdrom/packages/All/jp-pkfonts400-1.0.tgz

...and i can tail it without problems.
