I also have a Ryzen CPU without internal graphics.

I use Nvidia cards because the nvidia-driver port just works.
My card is a fairly low-end GeForce GTX 750, but it's more than
good enough to watch movies at 2560x1440 resolution at 60Hz.

The recent nvidia-driver port also supports more recent models,
but I don't know which. This URL should have all the relevant
