Please set your mailer not to use MIME. I think that if you read the man pages for smbpasswd you'll clear up some of your confusion. There are two different man pages. http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/man/smbpasswd.5.html http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/man/smbpasswd.8.html I recommend reading them both.
