that is because the sh shell doesnt support TAB completion

to install bash  go

cd /usr/port/shells
cd bash1 or bash2 ( depending on which version of bash you want)
then just type make, followed by make install to install the shell


then use chsh to change your shell from /bin/sh to /usr/local/bin/bash
