    does that answer stand for athlon-mp?

    I've had it in make.conf for at least a month and have
    had no crashes with daily updating/building --and no
    weirdness, but I do run a rather plain vanilla system:
    all SCSI with no plugin cards, no frills, on Tyan 2642 SMP
