It's a free BSD unix operating system.  It is very stable and can be used for
various applications including anything you can do with Windows plus
much much more :)
And it is free !!!!

Unix is _the_ original operating system and BSD is a main branch thereof which
was developed at the University of California at Berkeley. DOS and Windows were
both derived from a limited subset of unix.
