This version mis-match thing is a known limitation with FreeBSD pkgs: changes are under development, but nowhere near ready for primetime yet. Instead, install amanda from ports. Ports will automatically adapt to the version of perl you already have installed, and generally do what you want. Amanda is not (as I recall) something with a huge dependency list, nor is it a particularly enormous program in its own right, so compiling the port shouldn't be too onerous.
