You should try setting the pccard_mem value in /etc/rc.conf
and changing it from DEFAULT (which is 0xd0000) to something
like 0xd8000 or 0xdc000.  This has been known to help with
laptops with vid cards and lots of video ram (esp. ATI Rage
derivatives) .. not sure if this applies.

There also exists a Xircom list for FreeBSD, but the URL
for the subscription/archives escapes me.
